Training and Consultancy

Survivor Echo Education (SEE) Training and Consultancy, based at the Centre for Age Gender and Social Justice, Aberystwyth University, is a research-led, survivor-informed provider of specialist training and consultancy services, focused on domestic abuse in later life.

Our training and consultancy are shaped by the award-winning Dewis Choice Initiative, a co-produced, community-driven intervention designed to support older victim-survivors of domestic abuse, including abuse from partners, ex-partners, and adult family members.

Since 2015, Dewis Choice has delivered intensive, personalised support to people aged 60 years and over, helping them make informed choices about safety, justice options (including civil, criminal, and restorative), and well-being in recovery. Grounded in a rights-based approach, we challenge discrimination based on age, gender, sexuality, and disability.

Our trauma-informed training empowers learners with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to improve responses and service provision for older victim-survivors.
